Financing your studies at ESSCA
ESSCA is a non-profit association governed by the French 1901 Associations Act, with the majority of its funding derived from tuition fees.
Tuition fees adapted to your financial situation
(for students entering the first year of the Bachelor in International Management or the Grande Ecole programme)
To ensure that higher education remains accessible to as many students as possible, ESSCA offers a tuition fee adjustment scheme based on each family's financial circumstances, using household income from two years prior (N-2) as the reference.
Tuition fees are adjusted according to the family tax quotient bracket. This scheme is strictly reserved for students entering the first year at ESSCA for the first time whose tax residence, or that of their parents, is registered in France.
- For students joining the Master in Management (Programme Grande École) in the first year, tuition fees for the 2026/2027 academic year range from €0 for Bracket 1 to €14,900 for Bracket 12.
- For students joining the Bachelor in International Management in the first year, tuition fees for the 2026/2027 academic year range from €0 for Bracket 1 to €12,500 for Bracket 12.
This tuition fee adjustment scheme is not available to students admitted through direct entry (parallel admissions).
Students who entered ESSCA in the first year may reapply for the scheme:
- in Years 2 and 3 of the Master in Management (Programme Grande École);
- in Year 2 of the Bachelor in International Management.
Funding your studies
CNOUS Scholarship
Are you studying at one of our campuses in France and is your tax residence located in France?
Under certain conditions, the Europeans are eligible with the CNOUS (National Centre for University and School Works).
- Note that Exchange students are not concerned by this point.
CROUS Merit Grant
The CROUS Merit Grant is paid in addition to the need-based grant and is available to students who obtained the highest distinction ("Très Bien") in the French Baccalaureate.
The award may be granted for up to three consecutive years.
Students who repeat a year are no longer eligible for the merit grant, except in cases justified by medical reasons.
Regional and local authority funding
Additional grants and financial support may be available through regional councils, departmental authorities and local municipalities.
The type of support available and eligibility requirements vary depending on the region. Students are therefore advised to contact their local authorities directly to explore the opportunities available to them.
An interactive map of regional student support schemes is available online.
Student Loans
State-Guaranteed student loan
The French state-guaranteed student loan enables eligible students to borrow money to finance their studies without providing a parental guarantee or proof of income.
This scheme is intended to support students under the age of 28. To qualify, applicants must be either French nationals or citizens of a country within the European Economic Area (EEA) and must have resided in France for at least five years.
Applications are made directly through participating partner banks.
- Maximum loan amount: €20,000
- No parental guarantee required
- No proof of income required
Further information is available on the French Public Service website.
Work-Study Programmes (Apprenticeships)
Choosing a work-study pathway is an excellent way to build professional experience while financing your studies.
Under a work-study agreement:
- Tuition fees are fully covered by the employer.
- Students are employed and receive a salary throughout the contract.
At ESSCA, the following programmes can be completed through a work-study format:
- Year 3 of the Bachelor in International Management
- Years 4 and 5 of the Grande École Programme
Please note that not all specialisations are available as work-study programmes, and availability may vary by campus.
While the employer covers tuition fees, international study periods (where compulsory) and certain additional expenses remain the responsibility of the student.
Students enrolled in a work-study programme are not eligible for CROUS grants but may qualify for other forms of financial support.
Earning while you study
Students can also contribute to financing their studies through:
- Paid internships
- Part-time student jobs
- Assignments and projects offered by ESSCA
- Opportunities proposed by student associations
These experiences not only provide additional income but also help students develop valuable professional skills and enhance their employability.
