It is a digital recognition designed to highlight the skills and commitments of the students of ESSCA.
ESSCA Launches Open Badges: Digital Recognition for Student Engagement and Skills
ESSCA is introducing Open Badges — digital certifications that highlight the skills and commitments developed outside the academic curriculum.
Each badge recognises a concrete form of engagement, whether associative, civic, or collective. These badges can be shared online and added to a CV or professional profile.
Open Badges showcase qualities such as initiative, responsibility, and solidarity. They encourage active involvement in student life at ESSCA and in local communities. This is an innovative way to recognise soft skills and individual learning journeys.
Objectives of the Open Badges
Through the Open Badges initiative, ESSCA seeks to formally recognise the skills students develop beyond the classroom. This system highlights a broad spectrum of experiences, including peer mentoring, involvement in student associations, volunteering, and participation in innovative projects.
The badges are designed to showcase:
- Personal and interpersonal skills
- Meaningful commitments and contributions to community life
- Individual or team-based achievements
- Personal interests and self-initiated projects
As a complement to the academic degree, Open Badges enhance students’ CVs and increase their visibility to recruiters, while also reflecting their active engagement in campus life and the wider community.
For Students:
- Highlight skills on CVs and professional networks (LinkedIn, etc.)
- Receive official recognition for personal and collective engagement
- Strengthen their sense of belonging to ESSCA
- Become more involved in high-impact projects
- Increase visibility with recruiters and partners
For Partners and the Local Community:
- Identification of committed and engaged talent
- Transparency regarding the skills developed
- Strengthening links between ESSCA, companies, and local communities
