A founding member in 2013 of the ACE alliance (Alliance of Chinese and European Business Schools ), which brings together Chinese and European business schools, ESSCA hosted the annual deans’symposium of the alliance members on its Lyon campus from 17th to 19th March.

Under the patronage of EFMD, the alliance of Chinese and European business schools now counts 18 universities and higher education institutions, with ESSCA as the exclusive French management school in this leading network.

The agenda of the symposium was dedicated to pedagogical innovations, in full-time as executive education programmes, as well as research projects. A number of ideas have emerged to strengthen the synergy between research and teaching, reflecting a shared commitment to further raising the standard of academic excellence.

The 2026 symposium concluded with the annual General Assembly, during which members elected Jean CHARROIN as Chair of ACE for the next two years, alongside Qiang YE, Vice-Chair and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business for Science and Technology and the School of Management at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).

This appointment illustrates ESSCA’s international ambition, which operates a unique network of 10 campuses — nine in Europe and one in China — and more than ever asserts its constant commitment to supporting the transformation of management on a global scale.

Jean Charroin ACE 2026

Thanks to its presence in Europe and China, ESSCA has long been a natural and historical member of the ACE alliance. During my term, I wish to foster the development of scientific and educational cooperation, while also working to broaden our alliance by welcoming new institutions renowned for their academic excellence and international standing. In this respect, the arrival of CEIBS is a powerful illustration of this ambition
