ESSCA is honoured to announce the appointment of its Dean and CEO, Jean CHARROIN, as Chairman of the board of FESIC, the Federation of higher education institutions of general interest (qualification delivered by the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research, acknowledging the common good mission delivered by the incumbents).
Elected unanimously by the Board of trustees on 9 July 2025 for a three-year term, Jean CHARROIN will represent leading non-profit higher education institutions under contract with the French State across various fields of higher education, including management, engineering, arts and humanities, and veterinary sciences.
Driven by a commitment to academic excellence and high-level research, Jean CHARROIN intends to ‘defend the EESPIGs that place students at the heart of their educational project, rely on a stable and balanced governance model, and actively contribute to the development of companies and regions’.

FESIC is the first network of private and non-profit higher education institutions in France. With their non-profit, associative status, the 30 member institutions are recognised as EESPIGs (Private higher education institutions of general interest), which train more than 80,000 students and apprentices every year.
This means that 100% of their resources to carrying out their training and research mission, for the benefit of their students’ success and the building of their professional future.
