ESSCA alumni and students are actively participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics as flame bearers and staff members.

Lucie FAIVRE D’ARCIER and Camille BIMBENET: Transport and Mobility Management

Lucie graduated with a Master’s in Pricing and Revenue Management in 2018. Camille is currently on a gap year and is pursuing a Master’s in Marketing and Digital Communication at ESSCA.

They are both working in the Transport and Mobility department at Paris 2024.

They are responsible for managing the transportation of athletes, federations, media, the Olympic family, partners, volunteers, and staff.

Misaki TSURUTA: Organising Committee

Misaki has been working with the Paris 2024 Organising Committee for the past 2 years.

He is responsible for planning and training a team, as well as deploying technological services on site, including network infrastructure and screens.

This is not Misaki’s first involvement in a project of this scale; he previously contributed to the Tokyo Olympics.

Charles DIERS: Event General Manager

Charles holds the position of Event General Manager for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

After graduating, Charles worked for over 4 years at ESSCA within the Student Experience Department, where he organised and coordinated inter-campus events.

Today, he brings his expertise to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

His mission? To oversee the Beaujoire site in Nantes, playing a crucial role in the organisation of this global event.

From media management to security, including ticketing and logistics, he coordinates all aspects of the Olympic Games at the site in Nantes.

Philippe RÉVILLON: Olympic Torchbearer

Philippe recently had the honour of carrying the Olympic torch in Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire, near Nantes.

This experience rekindled many memories of his participation in the Paralympic Games in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 as a member of the French swimming team: the delegations being cheered as they entered the stadium during the parade, the lighting of the Paralympic flame, the starts of races in the finals, and of course, the podiums.

In total, Philippe won 4 medals: bronze in the 50m freestyle at Sydney, and silver in the 50m freestyle, as well as bronze in the 100m and 200m freestyle at Athens. His silver medal in the 50m freestyle at Athens, achieved in his final race, remains his greatest pride.

Beyond the joy of participating in exceptional events, Philippe RÉVILLON aims to demonstrate that everyone can achieve their potential, push their limits, and pursue their goals, regardless of whether they have a disability or not.

Étienne GARNAUD: Sites and Infrastructure Department

Étienne GARNAUD, a student in the Master International Business programme at ESSCA, took a gap year to work with Paris 2024.

He initially started with an internship at the Paris 2024 Organising Committee, which then evolved into a fixed-term contract until the end of the Games.

Since September, he has been part of the Sites and Infrastructure department, where his main role is to oversee the setup of venues and temporary infrastructures.

Currently, he is responsible for the sites in Saint-Étienne and Lyon, where the men’s and women’s football tournaments and associated training sites will take place.

This experience allows him to apply the skills he has acquired at ESSCA while contributing to one of the world’s most significant sporting events.
