A Campus Blending Heritage and Modernity
The transformation of the Convent of the Eucharistic Missionaries of Nazareth, a historic building on Calle Marqués de Valdecañas in Malaga, reflects ESSCA’s vision: to marry the protection of cultural heritage with innovation.
“The future campus, with a total area of 3,000 m² spread over three levels, has been designed to meet students’ needs while adhering to sustainability and accessibility criteria” explains Stéphanie VONDIÈRE, Director of Real Estate and General Services at ESSCA.
“The renovation of the campus began in October 2024 and will be completed before summer 2025” notes Stéphane RUIZ, Director of the Malaga campus.
The new campus will include
- several modern workspaces and 12 classrooms accommodating between 25 and 52 students
- a media library
- a dining area
- a learning centre
- a Career Centre
The architecture incorporates iconic elements such as the glass roof structure and the original cobblestones, which will be restored in compliance with current standards.
The project also meets sustainability criteria, with a low-carbon renovation, and will be fully accessible to people with disabilities.
A Strategic Positioning in Malaga
With the opening of this new campus, ESSCA strengthens its international positioning and to turning Malaga into a Higher Education teaching hub.
The City, which currently hosts a public university and several private institutions, will benefit from the expanded offerings provided by the business School.
The Bachelor and Master in Management programmes will be delivered on the campus, contributing to positioning Malaga as the new “European Silicon Valley” and plans to welcome nearly 1,000 students per year.
