For the second consecutive year, ESSCA is part of the Shanghai ranking - 2025 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) - carried out every year since 2009 by China's Jiao Tong University.
The School is ranked in the Business Administration category among the 400 best institutions in the world on the subject, along with 18 other French higher education institutions.
Shanghai Ranking: Methodology and Evaluation Criteria
The Shanghai ranking evaluates the commitment of higher education institutions in their research activities across 57 themes, in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences.
More than 2,000 higher education institutions across about one hundred countries and regions are included in this ranking, which uses a series of objective academic indicators and third-party data to measure their performance in their respective fields at a global level.

The Shanghai ranking takes into account articles published during the 2020-2024 period in Q1 Web of Science journals, i.e. those published in journals ranked in the top 25 in terms of impact.
