ESSCA's "TOUS A LA VOILE" crew participates in the EDHEC's 42nd cruise race

After a week's sailing and encounters under the sun of Brest, the Tous à la Voile crew has returned home with many memories and a dream of competing again soon!

This year, once again, the Cruise Race was an unforgettable event and the sailing was superb: tactical routes highlighting the team's skills, sailing over two days between Brest and the small port of Douarnenez, and circling the famous tall ship, Belem. Arrivals with the entire fleet (170 boats), and a warm and friendly atmosphere created memories right up until the crews docked in the port and arrived in the village.

The 31.7 First skippered by the crew and recognisable with its red spinnaker and its stickered hull came in a very honourable 45th out of the 97 boats entered in the 100% student category.

Tous à la Voile thanks ESSCA's management for the support it provided in preparing this race; its sponsors without whom it could not have participated; the many students who encouraged the crew and, of course, EDHEC, for the quality of the event organisation.

Finally, many new encounters marked the week: the children of the Stangalard home with whom the crew had the pleasure of sailing for an afternoon. And also Roland Jourdain, Michel Sardou, Bernard Lama, Raphaël Ibanez, and all the students of the 120 participating schools.

The Tous à la Voile crew is composed of:
Charlotte Boulan (1A), Henry de Boussac (M2), Hugo Carles (2A), Pierre-Aymeric Dirou (3A), Solène Fagart (1A), Mélanie Gidoin (3A), Henri Helier (3A), Jean-Baptiste Michaud (2A), Vincent Sachot (1A). Preparation for the 2011 EDHEC Cruise Race is already underway …

 See you next year!
