On Sunday, May 9, 2010, after three days of competition, the 9th edition of ESSCA's Grandes Ecoles Open ended at the Garden Tennis Club of La Baule - the conclusion of a year's work and a wonderful adventure for the current team of the Tie-Break association.

This year, only 12 high level teams participated in the tournament. Due to the economic crisis, a few teams cancelled at the last minute, including Audencia Nantes, Centrale Paris, Ponts et Chaussées, ISTEC, ISCAL Laval and ASE Bucarest.
The players, who arrived for the most part on the evening of Thursday, May 6th, were able to attend the presentation of this 9th tournament at a buffet and reception.
On Friday, May 7, the first matches in the round robin started under the sun of La Baule.
On Saturday, May 8, the weather was variable, at times sunny, at times cloudy, but no rain. The matches took place in normal conditions, with two exceptional semi-finals between ISCAL Laval and the Sautron Club, and the ESSCA Legends and Audencia.
In the evening, another friendly festive event was organised featuring a pig roast prepared by Loïc Dugast, a caterer at the Barapom in Pouliguen. On Sunday, the day of the final between ISCAL Laval and the ESSCA Legends among many supporters and local partners, the atmosphere was very friendly and the event kept all its promises as the ESSCA Legends won with three points to two after an amazing final set with Juliette Martinval playing for the ESSCA Legends. This is the first time in the history of the tournament that ESSCA found its way to the podium. When the awards were handed out, the President of the Tie-Break association, Eric Farne, congratulated and thanked all of the tournament participants and partners.
A very sincere thanks to all those who have supported the ESSCA Grandes Ecoles Open for the past nine years - a central event in student life. Bravo to the ESSCA Legends for their victory. And also bravo to the entire Tie-Break team for the organisation of this event!
See you next year at the ESSCA 2011 Grandes Ecoles Open for our 10th anniversary!
